President and Sister ShawcroftDorothea and J. Lynn Shawcroft

J. Lynn Shawcroft, 70, Aspen Ward, Mesa Arizona Kimball East Stake, called as president of the new Guayaquil Ecuador Temple. His wife, Dorothea Thomas Shawcroft, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Shawcroft, a sealer in the Arizona Temple, is a former president of the Ecuador Guayaquil Mission, and has served as stake executive secretary, high councilor and branch president. He and his wife served in the Guatemala Central Mission. A semi-retired teacher at Mesa Community College, he received a M. Ed. degree from Adams State College in Colorado. He was born in La Jara, Colo., to Howard and Marvelle Reed Shawcroft. Sister Shawcroft is a former stake Relief Society president, ward Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society president, and served with her husband in Ecuador and Guatemala. She received a bachelor's degree from BYU. She was born in Manassa, Colo., to Harold and Bertha Nielson Thomas. Parents of six children.
